In 1987, Thomas Knoll, then a student at the University of Michigan, developed software for Macintosh Plus that handles grayscale images. John Knorr, an employee of Industrial Light & Magic's image editing department and Thomas's younger brother, participated in the development and completed it as ImagePro [9]. Later, it was shown to Apple Computer and Adobe employees, and in September 1988 Adobe decided to acquire a license and sales rights [9], and in 1990 the first version
